Introduction
The truth written in Scripture is a sweeter treat than the celebration itself! On October 31st, 1517 a pastor and Professor Martin Luther nailed the 95 arguments on a church door in Wittenberg, Germany.
Usual
Back then that’s how you started a discussion. Luther’s arguments gained wide acceptance and were sent throughout Europe via the newly invented printing press.
Core Message of Reformation
Central to his concern was that the Roman Catholic Church had deviated from the Bible’s simple teaching that you and I can be made right with God only by faith in Jesus Christ God’s Son! This was the beginning of what came to be the Reformation of the 16th Century!
Relevance
Today, as we remember the steps that led to the wide spread Reformation, let us sober up and reflect more on God’s Word as taught in its truth and purity within faithful ways to the ears of our people, and thank God for giving us someone to discover this truth and shared it with Christendom until Christ’s return!
Happy and reflective Reformation!
