ELCG STAKEHOLDERS CONFERENCE IN KUMASI FOCUSES ON CONFESSION

ELCG STAKEHOLDERS CONFERENCE IN KUMASI FOCUSES ON CONFESSION

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana brought together its leaders and future ministers for a three-day Stakeholders’ Conference in Kumasi, the historic capital of the Asante Kingdom, from April 22-24, 2026.

Pastors, evangelists, deaconesses, congregation chairmen, vicars, and seminary students gathered under the key Scripture passage Hebrews 10:23: “Hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promises is faithful.” The theme set the tone for deep theological reflection and practical conversations on the life and leadership of the church in Ghana today.

A highlight of the conference was the teaching on the Book of Concord, particularly the Augsburg Confession. Sessions explored how Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions continue to shape ecclesial identity, doctrine, and leadership within the Ghanaian context. The interactive format encouraged lively dialogue, with participants engaging openly on the topic and other pressing issues in ministry.

Rev. Prof. Masaki Naomichi from the Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne – CTSFW, facilitated the conference.

The conference was initiative of the President/Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, Rev. John S. Donkoh.
