Statements


Confession 

The Church, and every member of the Church, accepts without reservation:

  1. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the written Word of God and the only rule and norm of Christian faith and practice.
  2. All the symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana as a true and unadulterated statement and exposition of the Word of God, namely:
    1. The three (3) Ecumenical Creeds (the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed),
    2. The Unaltered Augsburg Confession,
    3. The Apology of the Augsburg Confession,
    4. The Smalcald Articles,
    5. The Large and Small Catechism of Luther, And
    6. The Book of Concord.

Mission Statement:
“The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, rooted in the Holy Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions, seeks to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, nurture believers in faith and discipleship, and serve the community with compassion and love.”

 


Objectives:
1. Worship and Spiritual Growth: To enhance worship experiences, promoting spiritual growth and maturity among members.
2. Membership and Participation: To increase membership and participation in church activities, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
3. Outreach and Evangelism: To develop and implement effective outreach strategies, sharing the Gospel with new people and communities.
4. Leadership and Governance: To strengthen church leadership and governance, ensuring accountability, transparency, and responsible decision-making.
5. Resource Management: To optimize resource management, ensuring effective use of finances, personnel, and facilities.
