Easter Message Based On John 20:1-18

Introduction

Christ Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed, Alleluia!

Easter Is A Day Of Great Celebration For Christians, As It Reminds Us Of The Resurrection Of Jesus, Which Changes Everything. On This Particular Easter, Congregations Rejoice Not Only In The Resurrection But Also In The Baptism And Confirmation Of Young Believers, Highlighting The New Life Found In Christ.

Reflection

We Are Invited To Reflect On What Easter Morning Must Have Felt Like For Mary Magdalene.

Text

Before She Knew Jesus Had Risen, She Was Filled With Grief And Despair, Believing That Death Had The Final Word. Her Assumptions Led Her To Think Jesus’ Body Had Been Stolen, Not That He Had Conquered Death. Even When Angels Questioned Her Sorrow, She Was Too Overwhelmed By Her Pain To Understand The Deeper Truth.

Malady Application

We Can Relate To Mary’s Fears And Tears—Whether Over Lost Loved Ones, Guilt From Sin, Or Anxiety About The Future. But Easter Changes All Of That.

Gospel

One Word From Jesus— “Mary”—Transformed Her Sorrow Into Joy. That Same Risen Jesus Speaks Our Name Too, Reassuring Us That He Lives, And Because He Lives, Our Fears Can Be Wiped Away.

Gospel Proves

Christ’s Resurrection Proves Several Things:

  1. He Truly Is The Son Of God, With Divine Power Over Life And Death.
  2. His Rising Confirms That Our Sins Are Forgiven And That His Sacrifice Was Accepted By God.
  3. If He Kept His Promise To Rise, We Can Trust Every Other Promise He’s Made.
  4. We Are Declared “Not Guilty” And Made Children Of God Through Him.
  5. Moreover, Jesus’ Resurrection Guarantees Our Own. Just As He Rose, So Too Will Those Who Die In Faith.
  6. Easter Promises Eternal Life And Brings Comfort In Our Own Deaths And Hope When Mourning Others.
  7. The Door To Heaven Is Open Because Jesus Lives.

Conclusion

Easter Isn’t Just A Past Event; It’s A Present And Eternal Comfort. Christ’s Resurrection Makes Every Day A Good Day To Be A Christian.

Amen.
